What the storm left standing
Blythe Chapel started as a one-room classroom for local children before it became a church. For generations, families have gathered here many with loved ones buried in the cemetery just behind the building. The congregation had just finished remodeling the chapel when the storm hit. Now the roof is gone. Only a bell, broken stained glass, and very little remain standing.
We were pretty happy with our little church until last night. We’re gonna have to rebuild.
Todd Teel, Blythe Chapel UMC Member
Until Blythe Chapel can be rebuilt, the congregation is worshipping as guests of Fort Branch United Methodist Church. Noel UMC is hosting this Special Collection to help Blythe Chapel rebuild what the storm took and continue another hundred years of ministry in this community.
Help them come home.
Every gift moves Blythe Chapel closer to rebuilding what a hundred years of faith built.
