Grace Gifts

Today’s Reflection

The phrase “spiritual gifts” is unique to Paul’s writings, and the Greek word he uses is based in the word charis, which means “grace.” . . . so, it is helpful to think of them as “grace gifts.”

Today’s Scripture

We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to faith; ministry, in ministering; the teacher, in teaching; the exhorter, in exhortation; the giver, in generosity; the leader, in diligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness.
—Romans 12:6-8 (NRSV)
